News from Inscape-AAC project
April 9th, 2008 by stu-francesco.tHi Inscapers!
I want to share with you our first steps using the software. As you know, at the moment we’re working on the project Inscape-AAC and the first aim is to use photo and video to bring Luca’s word (places, activities, persons) in a small device. I do not deny some difficulties using Lua scripts, and I hope final version of Inscape will find the way to create some more confortable way to work on it.
By the way, we also need to reflect on another problem that interests the hardware stuff. Because of his disability, Luca will be able to enjoy the story we are preparing for him only if we can let him play it using a touch screen as interactive device.
Is there anyone of you that could help us in this regard? Have you ever tried to use a touchscreen for storytelling?
I’m waiting for you answer.
Francesco

Dear Mr Toninelli,
I’m very pleased to hear that you have such an interest in the INSCAPE application. Your purpose to use INSCAPE in the domain of rehabilitation and to develop an interactive application for the communication need of your patient is very interesting for us. Since it consists both in a new way to use the INSCAPE application and a whole new application domain, i think it deserves some particular attention and support from us.
Touchscreens, and more generally tactile input, are one of the interaction areas we are investigating, so you can be sure that we will be able to find working solutions…
You can contact me directly by Email (matthieu.dautricourt@c-s.fr), you can also contact our Italian partner from Digital video in Rome : Claudio Mattei, claudio@toonz.com
Very best regards,
Matthieu Dautricourt
